Check Shape and Scale with 2D and 3D Drawings | 3D Drawings Added to All Products

Every JAPANDI 3D model, crafted by a Japanese design team, now comes with a "3D drawing": a short video in which dimension lines are drawn one by one on the 3D model. Together with our 2D drawings (size charts), it makes the shape and scale of each model easier to check.

The Layered Wood Object 2D drawing shows dimensions of W330 x D286 x H100 mm.

- 2D Drawings: Check the Numbers at a Glance

The 2D drawing shows width, depth and height in millimeters, so you can compare a model with the space and furniture in your scene. It is included in the Zip file, so you can see the shape of the model right away without opening the 3D data.

- 3D Drawings: See How Size Relates to Shape

For curved or open forms, a 2D drawing alone may not make clear where each measurement is taken. In the 3D drawing, the dimension lines appear on the 3D model in turn, so you can see which part of the shape each number refers to. The example above shows the Layered Wood Object at 330 mm wide, 286 mm deep and 100 mm high.

* These dimensions are for reference, to help you get a sense of scale, rather than exact measurements.

- Where to Find Them

On each product page, the 3D drawing follows right after the 2D drawing (except for some free download models), so you can read the numbers first and then see where they fall on the shape.

- Coming Next

New products will include a 3D drawing from the start.
